Job Summary:
Heartwood Biomass is hiring a skilled Millwright to join our maintenance team. This position entails maintaining, repairing, and installing industrial wood product manufacturing equipment. If you enjoy solving problems and implementing process flow efficiencies, this might be the job for you. This position is located in Wallowa, OR.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform and implement preventative maintenance programs for all equipment and rolling stock
- Follow safety policies and procedures in all work activities and lead by example
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of Heartwood’s operation and equipment
- Recommend, plan, and implement facility improvements
- Dismantle, reassemble, and troubleshoot equipment when required for repair, installation, or maintenance
- Align and calibrate machinery and equipment for efficient and safe operation
- Maintain accurate parts inventory, preventative maintenance reporting, and documentation
- Adjust work plan in real time to optimize production efficiencies
- Productively respond to change and seek clarification
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrate fabricating and cutting capabilities
- Competent machinist with a well-developed mechanical aptitude
- Broad working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and relevant machinery
- Ability to read and interpret documents, operating and maintenance instructions, policies, and procedure manuals
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Flexible in changing circumstances
- Apply “lessons learned”
- Demonstrate initiative and exhibit sound judgement
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with team members
- Prioritize, organize, and sequence tasks appropriately
- Communicate effectively
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience as a Millwright
2-year Associate’s Degree, or equivalent training at a technical school
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program is preferred
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Compensation: $25/h - $35/h
