Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to collect and manage energy consumption data, and provide technical expertise and analysis to help Utilities and Energy, Design and Construction, the Building Automation Systems (BAS) unit within Facilities Services, Sustainability and Energy, and Facilities and Administration Shared Services (FASS) manage opportunity, risk, cost, and budgeting associated with electricity, water, steam, and chilled water production and/or consumption. Additional key responsibilities include the review of internal and external billing statements for accuracy, tracking and documenting energy efficiency projects, and identifying and pursuing external energy efficiency grant opportunities. The Energy Analyst is responsible for demand side utility use benchmarking, facility audits, analysis, reports, modeling, as well as supporting the energy analysis needs of campus partners.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification as a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) OR
  • Completion of an associates degree focused on energy management PLUS
  • Three years experience as an energy analyst at a University or large industrial facilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of comprehensive energy management processes
  • Experience in facilities management, preferably in a higher education or Institutional environment, with emphasis in HVAC construction, commissioning, building automation systems, controls, operation, and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience determining financial performance of energy opportunities and projects (ROI, Life Cycle Analysis).
  • Demonstrated experience conducting building energy assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a building energy analysis program.
  • Demonstrated energy analysis experience supporting retro-commissioning projects.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining energy benchmarking programs including use of Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience using building automation, energy control, or SCADA systems.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting efficiency studies of central plant and utility level steam, chilled water, electrical systems.

Salary: $80,000-$90,000 per year
