Welder / Fabricator

About the position - You will be stepping into a part-time metal fabrication role. Your primary focus will be the metal fabrication of our custom jobs and daily metal shop operations. Your work day will be different each day, with the core responsibilities listed below.

Job Responsibilities:

• Metal fabrication of our custom projects with high attention to quality, efficiency, safety, and cleanliness
• Ensure all fabrication jobs are delivered within expected deadlines
• Work both independently and with the rest of our team to promote a strong safety culture, safe work environment, and continuous operational/performance improvement
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
• Assist with facilities improvements and internal shop projects
• Maximize workflow efficiency by identifying areas that need improvement
• Contribute to the growth and development of the business
• Frequently perform safety inspections of all shop spaces and equipment
• Conduct weekly inventory checks
• Maintain tools and equipment in the metal shop
• Grow strong relationships across all levels of the organization
• Represent the company in a professional and respectful manner at all times

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• On-site position with occasional installations & field work
• Hourly position with an expected 20-30 hours a week but this may be subject to change for specific job requirements and company needs
• Employee will be an independent contractor and must fill out necessary 1099 paperwork
• Must have at least 2-3 years of experience in welding and comprehensive knowledge of the welding process & safety, primarily MIG welding
• Must have knowledge of operating welding equipment and hand tools in a safe and efficient manner
• Self motivated with a fine attention to detail and quality work
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple projects and embracing change while resolving issues under tight timeframes
• Ability to lift 75lbs and stand on your feet for extended periods
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Welding certification or some secondary schooling with 2-3 years of relevant experience
• Have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle to drive to job sites and transport materials with current insurance
• Experience with woodworking processes and tools
• Experience with design programs and working from design renderings

Compensation:  $20-$25/hourly
