The Facilities and Property Management Division (FPM) manages over 3.1 million square feet of owned and leased building space necessary for the efficient, safe and effective delivery of programs and services to the residents of Multnomah County. The quality of these services directly affect the functions within 131 buildings that are performed by 4,700 County employees serving the general public and partner Agencies co-located within the County's real estate portfolio. Job Responsibilities:

Multnomah County's Department of County Assets (DCA) Facilities and Property Management Division is seeking a Carpenter with demonstrated aptitude in skills including, but not limited to:

  • Journey level carpentry aptitude
  • Understanding of general project workflow including job planning, estimating, contractor engagement and execution
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Sensitivity working in occupied spaces and adapting to varied work environments
  • Tactful verbal and written communication skills working with clients and public with timely updates to applicable software
  • Computer experience and skills adapting to varied software programs
  • Installation and repair of all interior finishes
  • Repairing and installation of doors and hardware including LCN
  • Flooring repair and installation
  • Repairing and installation of ceramic and porcelain tile
  • Assessment of roof leaks/damages to implement repairs

Minimum Qualifications/Transferable Skills:

  • Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade
  • Four years of responsible general carpentry experience or completion of state certified carpenter apprentice program
  • A valid driver license
  • Must pass criminal background and reference checks

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Two years of responsible commercial property maintenance experience

Compensation: $29.72 - $36.45 Hourly
