Job Summary: Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is seeking to fill a full-time, limited duration Electronic Security Technician 2 position to maintain all the electronic security systems statewide for all of OYA facilities. In this role, you will install, maintain, modify, troubleshoot and repair manual and computer controlled electronic systems such as closed-circuit television (CCTV), programmable logic control (PLC), digital video recorder (DVR), monitoring devices, alarm systems and other access control systems which are used at OYA youth correctional facilities and camps.
Job Responsibilities:
- Alter, install, maintain and repair all manual and computer controlled electronic security and fire alarm systems.
- Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostic evaluation of OYA electronic security systems by using digital and analog test instruments to ensure systems are maintained and operational.
- Assist Facilities Manager, Maintenance Managers, OYA staff, and contractors by developing, maintaining and verifying accurate drawings and schematics for each security system.
- Respond to emergency failures of equipment and systems.
- Analyze, develop and implement computer programming to make sure continuous operation of integrated systems are working.
- Perform verification of security electronic programming to ensure systems are operating within manufactures parameters.
- Program and revise existing computer-based telephone systems, digital video recording systems and various access control door systems.
- Review new construction plans and specifications for electronic door hardware
Required Skills and Qualifications: Possession of a current Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) electrical license or appropriate limited journeyman electrician’s license for work assigned (e.g. LEA, LEB) issued by the Oregon Building Codes Division AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems; OR A General Journeyman Electrician license AND six years of experience in the installation, maintenance, or repair of manual and computer controlled electronic systems.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Limited Energy Class A License: This position requires a Limited Energy Class A (LEA) electrician license and knowledge of electronics and principles of electronics with a background in electronic security. OR General Journeyman’s Electrical license which covers LEA licensing.
- Driver’s License: Driving/travel is an essential function of the position. You must possess a valid Oregon Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
Compensation: $51,972.00 - $79,740.00 annually
