    Description

Job Summary: Neil Kelly is seeking Carpenters. You'll need a keen eye for detail, knowledge of structural modifications, and experience in historic and modern home construction. If you're a team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a "can-do" attitude, we want to hear from you. At Neil Kelly Company, a nationally recognized residential construction firm, we offer a friendly, team-based work environment, competitive compensation, and benefits. Your day-to-day activities will include working on a project team, with tasks ranging from complex home builds to simpler projects. This position will start in July.

Job Responsibilities: Carpenters at Neil Kelly work on a project team. Projects vary greatly in complexity and scale, so the ideal candidate will have the skills to build a home from the ground up or pitch in on simple projects if that’s what is needed. Our Carpenters are well-rounded and able to work on multiple projects a week.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Perform all phases of residential carpentry work—interior and exterior—with precision and craftsmanship
    • Support the Project Manager in delivering work to contract specifications and client expectations
    • Supervise and mentor carpenters as needed, providing guidance and feedback
    • Coordinate and inspect material deliveries for quality, accuracy, and timeliness
    • Ensure job site safety, cleanliness, and security at all times, protecting client property and minimizing hazards

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
    • Proven journey-level carpentry experience, including framing, drywall repair, window and door installation, trim, cabinetry, and interior/exterior finish work
    • Experience with kitchen, bathroom, and general home remodeling and maintenance
    • Ability to plan work in advance, meet project timelines and budgets, and work independently with minimal supervision
    • Skilled in reading blueprints, interpreting detailed specifications, and applying construction math
    • Proficient with tools, construction equipment, and technology used for research, learning, and communication
    • Strong problem-solving, diagnostic, and communication abilities
    • Physically capable of performing typical construction tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with remodeling codes and building standards
    • Experience leading small teams or mentoring crew
    • Experience in high-quality custom work
    • CPR/First Aid/AED certification (we’ll help you get it if needed)

    Compensation: $37 - $41.99 + Benefits
