Job Mission: Increase revenue 20% year over year by generating and managing timely, detailed, accurate, and sellable Proposals and Scope Adjustments. Intended Outcomes: New and repeat business that yields reasonable profit (minimum 42% gross margin) for the company and at a price that can be sold to the client. Year to year revenue increase of 20%. Maintain alignment between initial project scope/price and final selling deliverables/price throughout the lifecycle of all projects.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimation: Enter all new business leads into Active Campaign
  • Engage in client conversations at all steps along the estimation path beginning with Discovery conversations involving specific project details
  • Consult with Production Team on fabrication approach
  • Create pre-engineering/pre-design project approach hypotheses
  • Participate in the Value Engineering process
  • Generate various types of estimates, from “hallway estimates” to rough ballparks to detailed estimates and proposals
  • Business Development: Assist the Business Development team in the intake of new business
  • Participate in the evaluation of new business opportunities with Business Development team
  • Process and Maintenance: Generate Scope Adjustments from data provided by Project Managers
  • Adapt and develop estimation procedures and systems
  • Utilize periods of client project down time to focus on continued process development, personal skills training, FP internal projects, and facilities upgrades

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Required Experience: 3 years in exhibit or related fabrication
  • Education: BA or BS preferred but not required
  • Technical: Proficiency with Google suite and particularly spreadsheets is a must
  • Experience with evaluating technical drawings and plans is a must
  • Ability to read and understand construction and shop drawings a must

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with CRM’s (esp. Active Campaign) is preferred
  • Ability with drawing programs (Sketchup, CAD, Solid Works, etc) is strongly preferred
  • Diverse fabrication experience a plus
  • Interest in emerging fabrication and finishing technologies a plus

Compensation:  $70k-$75k yearly DOE
