Job Summary: The Mobile Equipment Mechanic is responsible for monthly services, diagnostics and performing mechanical repairs on a wide range of gas and diesel equipment, including but not limited to: various sizes of forklifts, haul trucks, wheel loaders, pickups and service trucks, golf carts as well as other stationary support equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair all types of gas and diesel equipment including but not limited to: forklifts, wheel loaders, service trucks, pickups, dump trucks/trailers and other support equipment.
- Troubleshoot, repair and/or replace ignition, fuel, hydraulic, lighting, and electrical and computer control systems.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components and/or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work meets specifications and regulations.
- Perform welding and fabrication on mobile and stationary equipment.
- Perform safety inspections and routine maintenance.
- Keep shop tools and equipment safe, clean and organized and repair tools when needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Certification from vocational school, completion of apprenticeship, ASE Certified or equivalent.
- Knowledge in mobile equipment hydraulics, 12v and 24v electrical, diesel and gas combustion engines, transmissions, differentials, suspensions, air brakes, ECU and other computer systems.
- Able to read work orders and technical manuals.
- Able to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach for extended periods of time on a daily basis.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work in a heavy industrial environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise.
- Self-starter who can work without direct supervision.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Compensation: $36.00/hourly
