Job Responsibilities:

  • Investigates and resolves work-in-process problems.
  • Recommends and implements improvements and / or modifications in sequence of operations, equipment utilization, and related matters.
  • Monitors assigned operations to assure compliance with approved methods and quality standards.
  • Reviews proposals of outside vendors regarding the purchase of a new or modernization of existing production / processing equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • In conjunction with tooling engineer and pattern shop personnel, determine the optimum tool design for the manufacturing processes
  • Interpret and create development samples and trial castings or programs, process as requested and assigned.
  • Interpret inspection results, investigate nonconforming castings and institute corrective action, sample and confirm corrective measures, document and amend process procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve production problems.
  • Be familiar with customer and regulatory specifications
  • Be familiar with all internal work instructions and forms.

Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar industry or heavy manufacturing environment. In lieu of a college degree, will consider high school diploma with 4 years’ of progressive experience and exposure to engineering principles in a similar industry or heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desired.
  • Compensation: TBD, Based upon experience. Salaried + Overtime
