Temporary Utility Worker

Job Summary: The Field Operations Division is seeking multiple temporary Utility Workers. These positions perform a variety of routine and semiskilled manual labor tasks and maintenance including construction, landscape maintenance, wastewater storm drainage collection, and street facilities.
Additional Information:
- Temporary position, up to six months.
- Full-time, up to 40 hours per week.
- Any offer of employment will be conditional based on the successful completion of references, a driving record review, criminal background check, a medical exam and drug screen.
- Depending on hours worked and duration, this position may qualify for an offer of Healthcare insurance benefits.

Job Responsibilities: Essential Functions (The essential functions listed below are not intended to reflect all duties that may be assigned to this classification. The District may augment duties and/or essential functions at its discretion. Additionally, some incumbents may not perform all Essential Functions.)
1. Assist in maintenance projects; washes and cleans equipment, uses chemicals, strippers, and hoses.
2. Perform general cleanup of wastewater and/or storm drainage facilities, facility buildings, structures, and landscape.
3. Assist in minor maintenance projects using equipment, hand, or motorized tools; dig ditches, paint signage, repair fencing; operate light motorized equipment, including vehicles, electric carts, and pressure washers; load and unload trucks; sweeping; landscaping and walking trunk lines.
4. Exercises safe work practices, equipment, and procedures; use and properly care for a variety of specialized hand and motorized tools.
5. Assist construction crews with onsite flagging and traffic control.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES: Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required KSAs would be: Experience in construction, manual labor, facility maintenance, wastewater treatment plant operation, landscaping or a related field of work.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Upon selection, candidate must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver's license.
Compensation: $27.11 - $28.47 Hourly
