Description
Job Summary:
- The Welder operates various welding equipment to fabricate, build or modify product, equipment, accessory equipment and components.
- Performs the numerous steps when welding various materials together
- Lays out, fits together and welds mostly pre-cut parts together
- Responsible for welding of more complex parts/components within the department
- Operates assigned equipment safely in accordance with company and OSHA safety programs and rules
- Performs work in accordance to approved procedures and work instructions
- Monitors Quality Points work station and records required data
- Reports quality and production concerns and issues to supervisor
- Cross trains on all work stations within department
Additional duties as assigned:
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- 2-3 years of previous welding experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
- Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
- Ability to work with and influence peers and management
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
- Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch
- Ability to work overtime as necessary
Compensation: $21-24 hour
