    Job Summary: GreenSavers is seeking an experienced Residential HVAC Service Lead who not only excels at diagnostics, but also has the vision and drive to help shape and grow our service department. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role focused on heat pumps, inverter-driven systems, and modern app-connected equipment. We’re looking for someone who wants to build systems, mentor other technicians, elevate standards, and take ownership of how service is delivered.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Diagnose, repair, and optimize residential HVAC systems, with a strong focus on heat pumps, inverter-driven systems, and modern app-connected equipment.
    • Lead complex troubleshooting efforts, including electrical, mechanical, and low-voltage control diagnostics.
    • Identify system performance gaps and opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and long-term customer satisfaction.
    • Help shape and refine service department processes, standards, and best practices as we grow.
    • Serve as a technical mentor and resource for other service technicians in the field.
    • Reinforce and model strong safety practices and professionalism in customers’ homes.
    • Maintain accurate digital service documentation and ensure quality control across service calls.
    • Collaborate with dispatch and leadership to improve scheduling efficiency and overall service experience.
    • Assist in resolving install-related service challenges when needed.
    • Stay current on evolving HVAC technologies, codes, and industry advancements.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • 7+ years of residential HVAC service experience, including senior or lead-level responsibilities
    • Advanced diagnostic expertise in heat pumps and inverter-driven systems (mini-split and ducted configurations)
    • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical systems, low-voltage wiring, and system communication issues
    • Experience servicing modern, app-connected HVAC equipment
    • Proven ability to mentor, train, and support other technicians
    • Demonstrated leadership mindset with interest in helping shape and grow a service department
    • Strong customer communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical findings and recommendations
    • Solid understanding of residential HVAC codes and safety standards in the Portland Metro area
    • EPA 608 Certification
    • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
    • Strong time management, reliability, and attention to detail

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
    • Experience helping build, improve, or scale a residential HVAC service department
    • Background supporting or supervising other service technicians
    • Familiarity with Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Quilt, or similar inverter-driven manufacturers
    • Experience with service management software and digital documentation systems
    • Strong understanding of system performance optimization and energy efficiency best practices
    • Ability to identify training gaps and help elevate overall team skill level
    • Experience presenting upgrade or replacement options to homeowners in a consultative, non-pushy manner
    • Knowledge of profitability, service metrics, or operational efficiency within a service department

    Compensation: 40+ hourly DOE
