Since 1989, Oregon Tradeswomen has been dedicated to providing women and gender minorities with the tools they need for economic independence and a secure future in the skilled construction trades.
Our training and support services create a pipeline of skilled, qualified workers to fill the growing labor gap in the thriving construction industry of the Portland metro region. Your financial support ensures our programs are available to all who need them.
“I am happy to support Oregon Tradeswomen! You’re doing such good work for women, including my daughter. She will journey out at the age of 22 with the NW Carpenter’s Union later this year.
I would not have known how to help her without the support of Oregon Tradeswomen.”
– Dr. Leslie Carter
The Workforce Partner Program
Oregon Tradeswomen’s Workforce Partner Program is an opportunity for your organization to invest in ensuring our regional construction industry has a pipeline of skilled, qualified, and diverse tradesworkers to meet industry demand.
When you become a Workforce Partner, you help us build a skilled and diverse workforce AND will be recognized as an employer committed to equity.
Your investment is also a commitment to building equitable, safe, and respectful worksites for all workers in our industry. We look forward to building a relationship with you to help both our organizations grow and thrive.
“I’m a strong supporter of Oregon Tradeswomen. It’s an organization that actively works to promote women in the trades, share their stories, and highlight career paths and opportunities. At Skanska, diversity and inclusion are core values; we’re working to increase the number of women we hire and promote workforce equity.
Oregon Tradeswomen helped us fill Field Engineer positions with highly skilled workers and we look forward to having more of their graduates join our team. We appreciate the positive impact of Oregon Tradeswomen in the construction industry.”
Katie Coulson
Vice President/Account Manager, Skanska

Bert Martinez Fund
A strong supporter of women in the trades, Bert recognized, trained, and mentored talent. She pushed her people to be the best she knew they could be -- to be better than they thought they could be.
Bert broke down walls and built bridges in their place.
She had so many strengths, talents, abilities -- and the greatest of these is love. It was Bert's superpower and she used that power for good.
All donations made in Bert's name will provide lumber, tools and training support for Oregon Tradeswomen's workshop.
Helen Getchell Women of Color Scholarship Fund
Oregon Tradeswomen manages the Helen Getchell Women of Color Scholarship Fund. This fund supports tradeswomen of color to succeed by providing financial resources to help remove barriers to a career in the skilled construction trades. Seed money for the fund was started with a generous donation by a tradeswoman who believes in “paying it forward”. Allocation of funds are overseen by the Scholarship Advisory Committee, comprised of industry partners who are committed to inclusion and equity, and the success of women of color in the construction industry.
