Oregon Tradeswomen is acutely aware of how the COVID-19 pandemic has creating hardship for Oregon’s workforce. We are sharing resources to assist with some of the key issues, including accessing unemployment benefits, mental health resources, financial assistance resources, and other resources as they come to our attention:

 

Multnomah County Mental Health Call Center

Oregon Unemployment Benefits

If you have been laid off or fear you will be, you can check to see if you qualify for Unemployment Benefits. Temporary rule changes have been put in place to make it easier to apply for and receive unemployment benefits during the current statewide emergency. All rule changes are back-dated to March 8, 2020 when the statewide emergency was originally declared.

Portland Corona Virus Mutual Aid Fund

The Portland Coronoa Virus Mutual Aid Fund will raise money to support those impacted by COVID-19 through a loss of work or for health costs. Anyone can directly submit a request. All expenditures are transparent yet anonymous. To request support or make a donation, please visit Open Collective online.

211 is a free and confidential referral/information helpline and website connecting people of all ages and from all communities to essential health and human services , 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dial 211 on any phone or go online to 211.org

Dialing “211” provides a shortcut through what can be a maze of agencies and phone numbers. Simply dial 211, for assistance with a referral to appropriate agencies and community organizations. 211 helps direct callers to services for, among others, the elderly, the disabled, those who do not speak English, those with a personal crisis, those with limited reading skills, and those who are new to their communities.
