Property Systems Lead

Job Summary: Acania, a 93-acre organic farm and vineyard operated under rTerra, LLC, is seeking a Property Systems Lead to maintain and improve farm infrastructure, manage small-scale building projects, and coordinate contractors for larger initiatives. This hands-on role requires expertise in repairs, construction, and infrastructure management, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate is resourceful, detail-oriented, and collaborative, supporting the long-term success of a regenerative agricultural hub.
Job Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Maintain buildings, fencing, irrigation, utilities, and security systems. Perform repairs in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general construction. Conduct regular inspections to address maintenance needs.
- Project Management & Construction: Design and execute small-scale construction projects (e.g., fencing, shed repairs, garden infrastructure) with a focus on sustainability and efficiency. Source materials and ensure high-quality execution.
- Contractor Coordination: Hire and oversee contractors for larger projects, ensuring work aligns with property goals, timelines, and budgets. Leverage a network of vendors for cost-effective results.
- Systems Optimization: Work with the farm team to improve infrastructure efficiency and support regenerative agriculture goals. Assist leadership in documenting projects and budgets.
- Safety & Equipment: Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in safe working condition. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in property maintenance, general contracting, or a related field.
- Hands-on proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, irrigation, and general repairs.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and contractors.
- Basic proficiency in Google Drive, email, and Google Sheets for documentation and communication.
- Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights or on ladders.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Established network of reliable contractors and vendors in the Portland, Oregon area.
- English/Spanish bilingual skills to facilitate communication with crew members.
- Interest in regenerative practices and willingness to integrate them into property systems.
Compensation: $65-100k DOE
