Job Summary: The role: We’re looking for someone to join our construction project management team! As our project coordinator, you will work with contractors daily to repair and improve our highway infrastructure system. Check out our current projects on OR217 and the Saint Johns Bridge. Job Responsibilities:

  • Establish working relationships with contractors and their representatives in person, via phone and in writing.
  • Conduct and monitor inspections to ensure plans and specifications are followed.
  • Accept or reject contract work or materials based on standards and specifications.
  • Review contractor’s project schedule to determine if it meets the specifications and coordinate activities to meet the contractor’s needs.
  • Prepare and recommend budgets, projects and resources.
  • Assist in contract administration which includes reviewing quality and quantity documentation.
  • Research and prepare technical reports.
  • Travel to project sites, attend safety meetings and assist with training.
  • Occasional hybrid remote work options available!
  • May require working long hours and being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays.
  • Work is performed outdoors 50% or more of the time and requires occasional overnight travel, working in adverse weather, moving around rough terrain, working near hazardous materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Five years of civil or transportation-related engineering or surveying experience. One year of this experience must have been independently planning and completing assignments. OR A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, surveying or transportation-related engineering and two years of civil or transportation-related engineering or surveying experience. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Special qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. You must have a valid driver license and an acceptable driving record. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s). Your license does not have to be issued in Oregon to be considered.

  • Experience administering or inspecting multiple highway construction contracts with overlapping deadlines.
  • Experience working with a diverse group of staff members with different roles and responsibilities.
  • Experience delivering transportation projects from conception to completion.

Compensation: $5,061 - $7,845 per month
