Job Summary: AECOM is seeking a highly qualified resilient qualified Quality Control Specialist to provide embedded lead the QA/QC and On-Site Inspection support for Federal LPOE (Land Port of Operation) modernization construction projects. Project is located at the ALCAN LPOE in Tok Alaska, and the position is fulltime embedded at the project site . (Other project openings are available at the Pacific Highway LPOE in Blaine Washington and Porthill LPOE in Bonners Ferry Idaho). This opening is a multi-year full-time embedded on-site field construction support role serving as Quality Control Specialist with position defined by Client as “Inspector / Quality Assurance Manager”.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading the QA/QC and On-Site Inspection on a construction management project involving managing a singular high profile complex multi-year project embedded at the project site to achieve specified objectives.
- Involves the overall observation, assessment, and reporting, with the implementation of Quality Assurance for monitoring and assessing the Design Build Contractor’s Quality Control Plan and their execution of the built project from inception to completion (Design Phase, Phased Construction Phase, and Commissioning and Acceptance Phase), to coordinate and oversee any third party (Owner ordered) independent supplemental or confirmation testing, and on the Owner’s behalf, to monitor and report on quality and progress to the AECOM Project Manager and GSA Project Team to support the delivery of a functionally and financially viable project that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality despite the harsh sub-arctic environment
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree + 6 years of experience providing QA/QC management and on-site inspection on construction projects, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency or government construction projects
- Prior experience in the support and management of successfully completed design-build construction
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or Architecture; Professional Engineering Certification, License or Architectural Registration.
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience leading the QA/QC and on-site inspection for construction projects; Prior experience leading the QA/QC and inspection major site infrastructure, horizontal sitework, vertical construction replacement and modernization projects; Prior experience working on GSA and/or other federal agency or government construction projects, including LPOEs, secure military bases/compounds; Prior experience remote and sub-arctic locations
Compensation: $95,656.00 - $176,964.00
