Millwright

Job Summary: The Millwright position is a mechanical craft position within our maintenance department. The majority of our millwrights work a Monday through Friday 8-hour day work schedule. Occasionally there are opportunities to post for some rotating shift work 12 hour shifts (4 days on 4-days off). The hourly rate for the Journeyman Millwright position is $38.12. Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA’s 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation after one (1) year of service and between 0 and 36 hours of vacation during their first year. Employees also receive nine (9) paid holidays and up to five (5) paid floating holidays per calendar year. This is a union environment. Employees will receive all of the rights and benefits associated with union membership when they join our mill.

Job Responsibilities: Provides troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment in technical support of the PCA Wallula Pulp and Paper Mill operation.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Journeyman level experience.

Candidates should have the following skills:

• Read and interpret blueprints, tables, charts, formulas.
• Read equipment instruction manuals; align equipment to specified tolerances;
• Good knowledge of metallurgy and other materials for fabrication processes;
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including centrifugal pumps, gearboxes, fans, and agitators;
• Be proficient in burning and welding techniques.
• Candidates must have their own complete set of tools.
• All candidates will be required to pass the company's standardized aptitude test for final consideration.
• This position is not eligible for relocation benefits.
• Minimum of three years of industrial maintenance-related experience.
• Must have good interpersonal skills, good planning and organizing skills, and a high degree of self-motivation.
• Must be able to acquire and/or retain a multi-craft skill set.
• The candidate must be able to acquire the skills of both Journeyman Millwright and Pipefitter.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Candidates that have worked in a heavy industrial environment.

Compensation: $38.12/hr
