Pipefitter

Job Summary: The Journeyman Pipefitter position is a mechanical craft position within our maintenance department. All maintenance pipefitters work a Monday through Friday 8-hour day work schedule. Pay and Benefits: The hourly rate for the Journeyman Pipefitter position is $38.12/hr Employees (and their dependents) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life, and disability insurance coverage, subject to applicable waiting periods. Employees are automatically enrolled in PCA’s 401k retirement plan at the time of hire. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation after one (1) year of service and between 0 and 36 hours of vacation during their first year. Employees also receive nine (9) paid holidays and up to five (5) paid floating holidays per calendar year.

Job Responsibilities: Provides troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment in technical support of the PCA Wallula Pulp and Paper Mill operation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Journeyman level experience.
• Competent with working knowledge of shop math including arithmetic of right angles, areas, volumes, pipe bends, pipe offset, and blueprint reading
• Competent with working knowledge of hand and power tools associated with pipefitting.
• Competent with working knowledge of industrial rigging and Safety.
• Competent with working knowledge of materials associated with Pipefitting including gaskets, packing, metals and plastics.
• Competent with working knowledge of pipe layout and fabrication, hangers, mitered joints, and offsets.
• Competent with working knowledge of process system valve maintenance and adjustment.
• Competent with working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders and control valve maintenance and adjustment.
• Competent with working knowledge of all forms of piping, i.e., flanged, screwed, welded, bell & spigot, fire system, tubing, and hoses.
• Competent with working knowledge of steam joints, siphons, and traps.
• Competent with working knowledge of oxygen-Acetylene torch.
• Competent with working knowledge of welding to include arc welding, rod selection, TIG, brazing, and silver solder.
• Must be able to certify on 6G tests for carbon and stainless steel.
• Must have own complete set of tools.
• All candidates will be required to pass the company's standardized aptitude test for final consideration.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Candidates that have worked in a heavy industrial environment.

Compensation: $38.12/hr
